Committed to social welfare, women empowerment, child development, and sustainable rural growth in Imphal West

Who We Are

“19 Years of Empowering Manipur’s Communities Through Sustainable Change”

Leihaonu Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization based in Takyel Khongbal, Pongshumbam Leikai, Imphal West, Manipur (PIN 795113).

Established on January 3, 2007, as a public charitable trust under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882 (Registration No. 70), we focus on uplifting underprivileged communities through equality, empowerment, and sustainable development.

Our Approach

Our approach combines direct action—counseling centers, orphanages, aged homes—with partnerships and research to ensure long-term, scalable impact for Manipur’s marginalized communities.

Leihaonu Foundation drives transformative change across Manipur through targeted programs in these core areas :

From running community learning centers and non-residential schools to offering scholarships for OBC/ST/SC students, we focus on quality education access. Vocational programs teach handloom weaving, tailoring, handicrafts, carpentry, and modern skills to create sustainable employment opportunities.

We promote rural self-reliance through agriculture training, animal husbandry (poultry, piggery, fishery, beekeeping), plantation drives (horticulture, sericulture, medicinal plants), and entrepreneurship support. SHG formation, income generation, and low-cost infrastructure like smokeless chullahs, sanitation, and community halls uplift village economies.

Social forestry, wasteland reclamation, solid waste management, and climate awareness combat environmental degradation. We organize relief for floods, earthquakes, droughts, and epidemics, plus safe drinking water projects and bio-medical plant conservation.

Free medical camps, de-addiction centers, HIV/AIDS awareness, road safety, and sanitation drives improve public health. We preserve indigenous culture through festivals, youth sports, and minority support while tackling civic issues like drug abuse and PWD welfare.
